Meet your Mediator, Carrie M. Wilcox
I spent thirty years as an Arizona family law attorney helping people successfully present their cases in court. And while I was great at litigating tough cases, not every case needed to go to court, and not everybody needed a lawyer.
I also saw that when people set aside their emotions and took control of their lives by playing an active role in resolving their own disagreements, many great things happened. People were happier with the outcomes they helped design. Children were happier when their parents stopped going to court and instead sat down and really thought about what was best for their unique situation. People saved time and money. The need to return to court for future modifications or enforcements was greatly diminished.
So, in 2025, I decided to shift gears and use my vast experience as an attorney to help people navigate and resolve their own divorces. No one knows what is better for your family than you, especially not a judge who will get to know very little about you or your family in the limited amount of time given to present your case in Court.
Mediation means that you have the opportunity to take control of what happens each step of the process. As your mediator, I will guide you to an outcome where nobody loses. I will not tell you what to do and I will not make decisions for you. I will share with you my experience to assist you in negotiating agreements that will be accepted by the Court and may allow you to avoid ever stepping foot in a courthouse.
